201 KAR 2:045, Technicians. Amendment, filed 3/6/25. Public Comments received through May 31, 2025. Public hearing scheduled for May 28th at 10 a.m. via zoom and in-person at 125 Holmes Street, First Floor Conference Room, Frankfort, KY 40601. These amendments enumerate what tasks can be performed by a registered technician under immediate, general or electronic supervision of a pharmacist, and allows for delegation of tasks (that do not require professional judgment) from the supervising pharmacist to a certified pharmacy technician under general supervision.
201 KAR 2:165, Transfer of Prescription Information. Amendment, filed 3/6/25. Public Comments received through May 31, 2025. Public hearing scheduled for May 28th at 10 a.m. via zoom and in-person at 125 Holmes Street, First Floor Conference Room, Frankfort, KY 40601. These amendments authorize a pharmacist to delegate the transferring and the documentation of a transfer of a previously dispensed noncontrolled prescription to a certified pharmacy technician. For a verbal prescription, the certified pharmacy technician must document that they read back and verified the prescription information when transferring or receiving the prescription transfer.
201 KAR 2:416E, Pharmacy annual reporting of cost of dispensing data. New Emergency Administrative Regulation filed 12/17/2024. This administrative regulation details the required data that shall be submitted to the Board of Pharmacy annually, beginning in March of 2026 for cost of dispensing data for the 2025 calendar year. This emergency regulation was required per Senate Bill 188 during the 2024 regular session of the General Assembly. The Board of Pharmacy will provide the data to the Department of Insurance. All data is considered proprietary and confidential and is not subject to open records requirements. The emergency regulation is identical to the ordinary regulation. Comments will be received through February 28, 2025.
